The design features one of Detroit’s famous monuments, the Spirit of Detroit, and with a little creativity, he has become the Spirit of STR8. “The Spirit of Detroit” is a Detroit icon, synonymous with the city itself and the dedication of those who love the Motor City. In 1955, Marshall Fredericks was commissioned by the Detroit Wayne Joint Building Authority to create a sculpture for the city to represent hope, progress, and the “spirit of man.” It depicts a man representing an idealized citizen rising above earthly concerns in pursuit of his dreams. Today, we hope to inspire those who enjoy our products to rise above their concerns and enjoy a moment with themselves or their family and friends.
